You can't correct actions (they've already happened) but you can alter motives to make them more pure, so that the resulting actions are more acceptable in the eyes of God.

I think thats a pretty good description. Its like going through all the stages, and turning into a beautiful butterfly in the end. It is said that the Apostle Paul had to think and rethink his motives and faith. That would involve a lot of self examination. Don't forget, Paul was hammering out a new religion founded on the Lord. They were all on the cutting edge of change.

I don't feel this way...that sounds cumbersome
I feel that it is very reflective
you "see" into, instead of "just gloss over"
but it is not a burden, it is an exciting path to embark upon
I think you just learn from what you already know and go from there, not try and correct so much as to "learn from" and try and follow your intuition on what to do next time.
It is not, for me, a constant "thinking and trying to figure out" what to do, it comes naturally after a while....and it is good.

I like to think that my spiritual journey allows me - or challenges me - to live in the moment, to see that which is around me more clearly, and learn and grow from that. If change occurs that is wonderful. I like to think I am learning rather than searching for something that I need to correct.

May you find that for which you are searching.

Spiritual Journeys vary from person to person. Personally I am a Christian and my journey is about growing in relationship with God, so it is not as much about examining myself, although I do that from time to time, its more about living a life in relationship with God to accomplish what he wants us to.

We seem to learn from past mistakes. It's hard trying to be good "day in and day out" throughout our lives there's always our past experiences, our hurts that come back to haunt us when we least expect it. Healing the hurt, sharing the joy, it's all part of life.
