No. In fact, I think television can be detremental to school children. TV is a visual medium and it therefore tends to focus on visual things like fires and accidents. If there is no exciting visual attached to a story then TV tends to ignore it. The result is that TV tends to trivialize the important and make unimportant things seems critical. People get a warped sense of what really matters in life and that tends to shut down the ability to think, draw conclusions, and assess things critically. Kids also get the idea that seeing things on TV is the same as seeing them in real life and that just isn't so (watch a TV on the Grand Canyon and then GO THERE - you'll see what I mean!) I don't see a lot of value in TV on young minds!

Television is an awesome media of sound and images that can convey concepts like diet and exercise that words alone can not do justice to. Children will see an animal, learn some trivial facts and that will spur them to read and research about this subject enriching their life.

Television is a wonderful and powerful educational tool with proper monitoring. Like all technology, it is how it is used that matters.

No. The bore diameter of a 12 gauge is 0.729 inches. a 10 gauge is 0.770. a quarter's diameter is 0.955. we do not even opt to talk the terrible hazards thinking substituting something for a shot value or a slug, this is as risky to the guy in the back of the gun as to all people in the front of it. very virtually each little thing you be conscious in a movie or on television that includes firearms isn't a threat, risky, exaggerated or uncomplicated stupid. it will be exciting, in spite of the undeniable fact that this is totally virtually not in any respect genuine.

First let me ask, is it possible to avoid TV these days? It certainly has its usefulness. Through guided viewing, children get much more exposure to a wide range of subjects and their level of general knowledge increases vastly. But the viewing has to be on selective basis and parents have a great role to play in this regard.

it isn't necessary, but i think it has it's good points sometimes. before i had children i thought barney was horrible and evil. but now, it is quite good, it helps to reinforce some of the good behaviors and manners i teach my children, especially when they see other children doing these things also. but i do not think everything on tv is of any value, especially for my children
