I'm against it since it destroys family life.

I'm for certain rights, but against marriage. I agree, it should be called SOMETHING. I'm not sure what, though. I think they should be granted next-of-kin rights, and I think it's wrong to make them feel unwelcome because of their sexual orientation, but I shouldn't be forced to "accept" it.
The thing is, in other countries, and throughout history, gay marriage hasn't been a big deal. There are far more countries that allow multiple marriages, marriages of children, and other such unions than those that allow gay marriage. I'm afraid once they have one foot in the door, other "groups" will push for multiple partners, or even marrying children. That's scary.

I do not feel comfortable with same sex marriage-----tho I try. But, I do believe in same sex legal union for the same benefits and rights given to a married heterosexual couple.
I cannot believe that homosexuality is a lifestyle choice, in most cases. It is a biological issue from birth. One example I can site--a baby I saw grow up. Her ways, her likes and dislikes-we knew by the time she was three years old that she was gay. She is grown now--and, yes. She is gay.

First of all, I'm not religious as religions are man-made. I'm a born again Christian, as Jesus says we must be in John 3:3 .
As for gay marriages, God is against homosexuality. This is why He destroyed Sodom and Gomorah. Because God said it is wrong several times in the Bible , that's good enough for me.
Remember, 2 of the same thing makes NOTHING.

I'm for a civil union but against "marriage" which is a religious sacrament. I want them to have all the protections of the law in regards to their union...but I still want to protect the sanctity of "marriage" as a religious rite.

I am a Christian (don't believe in organized religion, cuz its between me and God, no one else!).
I do not have a strong feeling for or against gay marriage, but if I had to choose I would be for it. My reason is that, although I do believe homosexual acts are a sin I DO NOT believe that God considers it a "worse" sin than anything else. For example, in God's eyes, straight premarital sex is also a sin and is equally as sinful as homosexuality. And yet we do not have laws forbidding people who have had premarital sex from getting married!!
Also, lying, infidelity, etc are all sins. Although I am imperfect and forgiven, I am against sins of all types. But I strongly disagree with discrimination against homosexuals based on Biblical reasons. We all sin, and we all can be forgiven if we ask Jesus for forgiveness.
But the laws of our country should be fair to everyone, straight and homosexual.
And BARRY CALVIN, don't be so quick to generalize about all Christians, just as you wouldn't like someone to generalize against all gays.

Seeing as how marriage has become a sham among the religious with "no fault" divorce and cohabitation among Christians, I see no reason not to.
Maybe the Christian Churchs will develop another method and regulate it themselves and stop the shams.

I am for equal rights and treatment under the law.
I am *against* the State telling me who I can marry, and so by extension I am against the State teliing ANYONE who they can marry (who is of age and consenting)
