There wouldn't really be a problem would there? People would have to be nice to eachother. It's the rule breakers who spoil religion for everyone else isn't it?

People would be schizophrenic. There are many rules and they contradict other rules. Most of them are impractical or inhuman to follow completely. Many of the rules are just really bad advice.

The reason that there isn't more of a problem than there is, is because people don't follow the rules. They cherry pick the ones they like and move on. You see various versions of the Golden Rule waved around by some pious people, and it is generally a good thing. However, they gloss over all the "kill your neighbor if he ..." rules. And the rest of the rules are interpretted more or less in reflection of society. As society changes, the rules are interpretted differently.

Religion actually makes people morally lazy by spoon-feeding them rules on what is supposedly right and wrong. They are discouraged from actually thinking why they are right and wrong. Many religious people can't get further in a discussion of issues than "God said so". At that point, they clam up and have nothing to contribute to the discussion. They vote on laws because someone said that their religion says so and that's good enough for them.

Which religious rules? There are thousands of strains of religion all with different rules. The rules of one may be blasphemy in another. That aside, lets just consider the bible for a moment. What should we take from the bible. There is actually far more in the way of murder, rape, child abuse, female oppression, revenge in the bible than any tales of good morality, and much of it is supposedly either carried out or sanctioned by the biblical god. The simple fact is that each religion teaches an absolutist view to its beliefs and that anyone who fails to meet those 'standards' is destined for death, eternal fire and so on. They have no room for the beliefs of others. Most religions are fundamentally undemocratic. Surely democracy and the teaching of consequences in the real world, along with the rule of law, is the only way that everyone can have chance of getting along.

With time and misinterpretation variations take position. might want to the English we talk as we talk be an identical because the English spoken by potential of the British 2 centuries in the past? Irony in spite of the undeniable fact that is this. The Quran has no longer replaced. no longer a letter of a know the Quran has replaced over fourteen hundred years. The middle concepts of Islam mutually with monotheism, love for our Prophet and the elementary rules haven't any replaced both. rules which aren't to any extent further established and are literally peripheral have replaced. All Muslims count number on a unmarried God, interior the single QURAN (we do no longer have different qurans for each sect or any reprints htat fluctuate from one yet another). All Muslims count number on our Prophet MOhammad who's uncomplicated to all Muslims. All Muslims count number on a minimum of one Caliph or successor of the Prophet, this is Ali, his son-in-regulation. All Muslims do no longer evaluate eating allowed. No Muslim who follows Islam considers dancing or playing round with the option sex allowed. All Muslims pray 5 circumstances an afternoon. All Muslims quickly for one month in Ramadan. All Muslims trust they might want to pass to Hajj once in a existence time. All Muslims count number on giving charity to the adverse at quite some circumstances in the course of the year or maybe as a choose arises. All Muslims trust that one might want to honor their mothers and fathers and love and appreciate their siblings, friends and look after the adverse and the needy between any crew. So, the position are the variations except in cursory issues which aren't to any extent further established to the founding concepts of Islam. There are cultural variations, and they are inspired because it shows the captivating type that the Lord Almighty has allowed, mutually with clothings, epidermis colour, customs and languages etc. which not in any respect conflict with the rulings of Islam i wish it really is sensible sister.

First of all, God bless you for all the funny and interesting questions you have posted this afternoon. I'm still laughing from all the indignant answers you got from the q to people with faith re getting a job. You've really cheered me up. Thanks.

Now, re the above q, can I just mention that religious rules aren't worth the paper they're written on. It's not RELIGION that matters, it's GOD. And God, in his infinite wisdom, loved mankind so much that HE DID NOT SEND A COMMITTEE to make rules and have them enforced. He sent Jesus. Enough said? LoL (which, to most people means lots of love, but, to the initiated means love our Lord).

It's not fair to say that. There are conflicting rules within each religion. Which religion would you follow? What about the rules of society? People can be nice people even if they don't follow a religion!

or so you would believe..........

if you look at the wording in the bible & other such religious books you'll find theres "sin" in almost everything. It would be a VERY boring life. Think of a monk.

We dont live like that because most of us believe but dont believe enough to take it literally. Shame on those! lol

Wouldnt it be funny if god actually DID want people to follow the bible word for word & all these modern day believers are pisssing him off each & every day by not getting it EXACTLY right.

Yes tis true if everyone followed the rules according to the Bible things would be a whole lot different.

Problem is, in the Bible it says that we will not live a perfect life and that we will suffer for even being a Christian.

Greater love hath no man than that he lay down his life for Christ.

We suffer because of sin and we work harder to be a Christian because of the sin in the world, and God knows this, he knows it will be a sacrafice.

All I can tell you is just hang in there because you will get your reward in Heaven.

so you're idea is that people should follow everything their religion says?? why not jus have one major religion and have everyone follow it??

i don't think people should follow "religions" but personal beliefs. if people really take the time to figure out what they believe in and what their values are, you would have a lot of nice, straightforward, honest people.

and as far as being nice goes...there are a lot of religions that have inhumane customs! think about it

Er no if you look... The relgious rules would have all who have sex outside marriage, all gays, and all firemen, doctors, paramedics and other vital workers who work on Sundays murdered sorry executed.

All abused kids would have to honour their parents whilst being raped saying you are a good daddy.

And others would be burnt at the stake for witchcraft... ie being a hippy who heals the sick.

Or criticsing all this murder for heracy
