Freeze to remove heavy excess....then pop out wax with a dull blade or the backside of a table knife... For residue after burning candles try a grease cutting dish detergent like Dawn..put a few drops in the holder and then fill with very hot water...let stand till water is only warm then use the dull side of a table knife to scrape out residue.. do not let it cool completely and be careful how much pressure you use..you don't want the glass to break in your hand.

Turn you oven to "WARM", put a pile of paper towels or napkins on a baking sheet and place the holders on towel upside down.

Put the baking sheet in the oven and check it every so often, wiping the melted wax from the glass. After awhile all the wax will be wiped away and you can just throw the paper towels in the trash.

I do it all the time and they clean up really nice.

You could try putting them in the microwave for 10 or 15 seconds to soften the wax, then remove.

I have also heated water in a pan, not to boiling, and placed the holders in the hot water briefly. Worked like a charm.
