I am studying German and have hit a road block recently. I am having great trouble comprehending how to make German nouns plural. Is there an easy way to know alll the plurals? Or do I simply have to memorize the plural when I first learn a word? Thaks in advance for your help :)

Since there are so many different German plural forms, it is best to learn the Plural (and the gender, by the way) along with the noun. In some cases, homonyms in Singular have different plurals and can thus be distinguished:

e.g.

die Bank - Pl: Bänke (bench)
die Bank - Pl: Banken (bank)

die Mutter - Pl: Mütter (mother)
die Mutter - Pl: Muttern (nuts - as in: nuts and bolts)

Sterz really made a good statement. I think you should try to memorize them.
If you try any way to build plurals on your own, you will choose the wrong way frequently and it will result in "bad" german.

Sorry, but german is really hard to learn.

P.S.: You should give the points to Sterz, it is really a good statement why you should memorize the plurals.

With most german nouns you add 'e' or 'en'.
