For the strept--go to the doctor and get an antibiotic. She really needs to do this because strept--if left untreated and develop into other things and cause her lots more problems.
How to survive the chemo? Chemo is a poison to kill a poison. It is wicked stuff. Just hang in there is about it. You might ask her doctor if he can recommend something to ease her discomfort.

Strep throat (or "Streptococcal pharyngitis", or "Streptococcal Sore Throat") is a form of Group A streptococcal infection that affects the pharynx.

Reddening of the tonsils, fever, problems swallowing and eating. Drinking hot liquids helps. Orange juice and grapefruit juice should not be consumed, because the acids in them may irritate the throat.

In addition to taking antibiotics, other ways to relieve strep symptoms include drinking plenty of liquids, taking nonprescription medications (such as ibuprofen and acetaminophen) for throat pain and fever reduction, and getting plenty of rest. Also, gargling with warm saltwater (1/4 teaspoon of table salt in 8 oz. warm water) can help relieve throat pain.

It may not be strep-My husband had chemo and he got to where he could not swallow because his throat was sore. It was an effect of the chemo. Go to the doctor and get it checked out though. If it is strep she needs an antibiotic.
