There's cabs outside of the Port Authority that will take you to NJ. Personally, I wouldn't take one as its ridiculously expensive. I live literally across the river just past the tunnel in NJ, and it cost me well over $50 (hey I was desperate to get home that night!) You can haggle them down, but to NJ meters really don't apply as its outside of the city (heck, outside of the state) and like other posters said you still have to pay for their toll back into the city (that alone is $8). One word of advice: verify that the price they give you includes tolls. Usually they give you a price and as soon as you're on you're half way through the tunnel you get the "oh by the way, the doesn't include the toll." There is another option...NJ Transit from Penn Station. There's a NJ Transit station in Secaucus (helpfully called "Secaucus" station). That's a much better bet. If need be, call a cab from the station in Secaucus, it'll be infinetely cheaper doing it this way than directly from NYC.

It's in Manhattan between 41st. & 42nd St. and 8th Avenue. It's accessible on the subway. Closest is 42nd St. on the A and E lines.

42nd and 8th. For Botson/Greyhound you most likely want to go to the basement on the building on the south west corner of 42nd and 8th (there are multiple buildings)
