She is trying to tell you something is wrong. Cats hide when they are in pain, sick, frightened, or about to die. Please take your old friend to a vet immediately. There could be something very wrong. If so, humane euthanasia is better than your fur child dying a slow and possible painful death.
I am sorry!

I have a male cat that tends to hide when someone new (or animal) is in the house. Sometimes he will continue to do this for a couple of days after the person is gone. Or, your cat may just be feeling ill or it is possible she is dying. I would take her to the vet asap. Good luck.

I recently lost a cat to a form of feline leukemia (it is similar to aids in humans). There are two types, one is contagious to other animals, the other is not. Neither can be passed to humans. Dehydration is a simple symptom to check for. Lift the cats coat to see if it feels loose or not. Dehydration makes the coat very loose. Your cat can live with the disease. However, if it is contagious, you can not have another pet for quite a while (check with a vet).

Sounds like the cat needs to go to the vet. It is likely, given its age, that it is ill. Many things can be done these days, so get it to the vet. However you must be ready to accept that the cat may be in great pain and it may be expensive, or indeed cruel, to let the cat suffer.

It could be that she is looking for a warm spot to sleep in as the weather has been very windy and draughty recently. Our cat is sleeping in all sorts of places, picks one for a while, then finds another place. Good luck anyway. Only human beings know they will die.

15 is a good age for a cat, is she healthy in every other way? I would take her to the vet for a check up, It's a sad thing to say, but cats know when thier time is up and will find a quiet place to end thier days.

That just might be a sign that your cat is going to past away, cats do abnormal things when its that time period. My cat of 17 years died 2 years ago, but 4 days before my cat died it she walked around in circles all day long. Just spend as much time as you can with your cat.

HI-, Some cats live a long & happy life, but sad to say cats do go off & go into solitary for 2 reasons, 1 is to pas away in piece, & 2 is to go in a warm place to have a litter of kittens, so iff she is eating ok i would put it down to the second reason but take her to the vets, its alright us clever clogs telling you what it is but get expert advise it maybe nothing,D.F;

I would say take her to a vet, but it sounds like she is trying to find a safe and secluded place to die. Cats try and hide when they know they are going to die. That is one thing I have never understood. But I hope your cat just needs a shot or something.

O dear, poor cat, it sounds like she is very poorly, or maybe dying. If she doesnt eat or drink she will get very dehydrated, and maybe it would be kinder to get the vet out to her and if he thinks it necessary have her put to sleep. I'm sorry for you, i know what this is like as it happened to me. 15 years is a fairly good age for a cat, although some live longer. Mine was 19 years.
