i installed an xxx application on pc with an admin account. ok i can log on and lunch the application with no problem, but when other users of the pc logs in (some with admin right, some not), they cannot lunch the same programme. Even though the icon for the application is visible under start->programm->"xxx", when they click on it a little window pops up and begin searching for the installation location, and will never find the path or lunch the application.
I installed this same application on another machine with multiple users and every one was able to lunch/start this application, despite having administrative rights or not.
How do i fix this problem on the trouble machine?

you have installed the program in "program files" folder.
Uninstall the application and install on some other drive than your system drive(usually c:). Also verify that folder reffered by environment variable TEMP is writable. You can define temp as a user variable also...
Hope that will work now....

Two things I can think of will cause this...

1) You installed the application only for the current user... so it's not available to everyone (or anyone else in fact). To fix... uninstall and install it for everyone to use. Or install it as someone else's userID with the 'everyone can use' option.

2) You installed it in a directory that is owned by you and has no rights for anyone else to read. To fix... give permission to everyone else on this directory. Or uninstall it and install it again in somewhere that others can get at.

Only thing I can think of is that the way you setup the users account was in a way in which everyone has their own "profile" and they can't see eachothers' files.

You can make changes to such profiles by right clicking on My Computer>Advanced tab>User Profiles.

Maybe if you could give the name of the program then we could try and replicate the problem/give solution.

there's an option on the program when installing if you want to let other accounts use the program, install it again look for that option
