my cat always seems to be there when i am hurting or lonely and when i am in a really bad mood he seems to disapear.
is this evidence of that sixth sence i've heard about? or is it just good timing on his part?

I know what you mean and yes I think cats can sense how you are feeling. When I am sick, my cat will sit by my side and watch me and she will only lay with me if I tell her that it's okay. She worries about me and wants to comfort me.

My cat came out when I cried and rubbed againist my legs. It's like they can sense when we are sad. It's kind of sweet, they want to make us happy again or something.

they don't understand our language, but they can understand certain sounds mean certain things, like "here kitty kitty" and "you want out?"
it isn't just timing that makes him come to you or hide, they are also very good at body language and sensing mood and intention.
