Lies are bad, but they will not keep you out of Heaven.
What will keep you out of Heaven is : To refuse to forgive others for their mistakes. -- Jesus was very clear about that.

You know your question got me to thinking, and I don't know where it says not to lie. Not to bear false witness, that's in the Ten Commandments, and that's commonly taken to mean lying, but that's a special kind of lie, saying that you have seen something you haven't or testifying falsely. I don't think it covers things like "Do I look fat in these jeans", or "How do you like dinner", the hundreds of times you are polite instead of hurtful.
That kind of thing is a small lie told to make others happy, I don't think that rises to the level of not bearing false witness.
Its my guess that a loving God makes allowances, and may actually even encourage small acts of kindness.
I still feel that kindness trumps hurtfulness, and I pity those who go through life inflicting hurt with those 'honest' tongues and then have to face the God of loving kindness with all that 'honesty". They will have much to explain as to why they felt their judgment was so much more important than His.

If they are truly Christians then they will feel the conviction when they do lie. Unfortunately, living in society today its so easy to fall into sin, Christian or not. Hopefully God will use the conviction to teach them not to lie. Also, IF they are Christian, ALL their sins are forgiven. Stop watching them, they are only human but look to Jesus yourself and see the truth....Jesus said "I am the truth"....worry about yourself, your friends are being dealt with I assure you.

The Holy Spirit should convict them of this. Perhaps you could point it out to them and get their reaction.
Oh and in regard to lying, the commandment is not to bear false witness, however, the Bible also says that "God HATES a lying tongue," and that is not open for interpretation.

God is a myth. If he did indeed exist then there would be proof and we wouldn't call religion a faith, but instead, call it a fact.
None-the-less, I know plenty of Christians who lie, decieve, ect, which is even more proof to me that even many Christians, deep down, do not believe in God. They just say it to be accepted and look good in the public eye.
God is dead ! .... Long live the proof of science.

That's the first stage of the veil slipping for you, be prepared to see many other hypocritical happenings in time to come as far as your christian friends go.

Just because one says they are Christian doesn't make it SO!
(Matthew 7:20-to-23) Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
(Mat 7:21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
(Mat 7:22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
(Mat 7:23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Thanks, RR
