It means there is a warrant on your ex. He will need to contact the clerk of courts, find out how much the bond is, post the bond, and appear in court on the new court date.

A bench warrant does not go away...ever. He needs to take care of this on his own, or the next time he is pulled over for anything he can be taken to jail.

Lesson here: don't mess with the court system.

When you're the defendant in a court case, if you fail to appear, you usually get an automatic judgment against you.

Failure to appear can result in a warrant, but you can take care of it by just paying the ticket.

He has an active warrant out for his arrest. The next time he gets stopped by a police officer, he's going to jail no questions asked.

He needs to turn himself in right away...and he also needs to realize that when you're told to appear in court, it's a good idea to go.

They issued a warrant for failure to appear. He needs to go to the court asap and present himself to the clerk, ask for a reschedule of his hearing and damn sure better show up the next time! He can be arrested with an outstanding warrant.

It means that the court found him guilty "in absencia".
...see Mahal's answer.
There is no mention of a bench warrant and a D6 is not an arrest warrant.
Tell him to pay the fine as soon as he gets notification in the mail and he will be ok.
