Ever since my daughter started college, she has been extremely tired, achy, and not sleeping as much. Her schedule isn't that bad or strenuous, but when she gets stressed over an assignment, her symptoms intensify. She's an honor student and just a real sweet heart with others. Any ideas?

she's just stressed. tell her to relax a bit and have time to take a breather and not just spend time on books! get iron tablets and vitamin c and give them to her daily. such medications help, and of course... prepare a balanced diet with lots of carbohydrates.

Maybe she is just anxious about college. When I started my first semester away from home I felt the same way. I also got sick with a cold a few times. It's not the schedule, it's just the stress of adjusting to something new. Stress can really do a number on you. Especially on an honor student. To feel better, I started eating good, balanced meals instead of the usual candy and pizza and skipping meals. It really helped, and by the 2nd semester I was back to normal. I think the same will happen for you daughter after she gets adjusted.

She's away from home for the first time. In the Army many men that were away from home for the first time went through anxiety problems (home sick) until they became used to it. If it continues after a normal amount of time, I would give it a few months, then have her see a doctor.

Does she exercise on a regular basis that will help relieve stress and if you have intense workouts you more than likely will sleep good.
