I met this great guy thru Yahoo Personals and on the first time/date we met he said that he loved me. I had only known him for 10 days thru phone/email msgs before. He is a cop. Can this be possible or is he lying and how can I be sure he is telling me the truth. He seems to be for real but I don't trust anyone or believe what people tell me because of my prior bad relationships. How can I really tell if he truly loves me?

Take it slow.. take your time.. learn from ur previous mistakes.. this is the real world .. not some romantic movie..

I don't think love at first sight is real, how can it be? you don't each other yet. It is a physical attraction, which is a good place to start. It could grow into a true love..which involves shared intimacies. Being able to trust one another enough to tell your darkest secrets to without the fear of rejection or ridicule. How do you feel? True love is a conscious decision to act in a loving way even at times when you don't feel very loving..like4 when they piss you off really bad. allow each other to have their own truths and own space. But it sounds like you could be on to a good thing. Give time to grow, but love needs nurturing to live and grow>kind words, strong support, heaped on often. Good luck.

A cop? Are you sure about that? Cops can't always be trusted and it makes him sound deperate if he tells you he loves you that fast. GIVE IT TIME.. time will tell!!

you have LUST at first sight. you can confuse it with love but it is lust. Somepeople do fall in love after like a week of knowing someone. It is all down to their feelings.

Dunno coz some guys never say what they don't mean but others they lie easily.. Just be honest & aske'm straight to the face:"Do u really meant what u said??" & look at his eyes & face u can easily get the answer from his reactions !!
