My son was 3.5 before he had the desire to potty train. Pushing him to do so might backfire and cause him to resist training even more.
I would try making a huge deal out of the times he does go and being pretty laid back about it otherwise.
Have you tried having his favorite character call him when he is a big boy and goes potty in the potty? Arrange for dad, grandpa, or an uncle to play Superman (Spiderman, Batman, etc) and you can call him only when he uses the potty to let him know what a big boy your son is. My son thought that was the best thing ever!
Good luck!

Is it winter or summer where you live. If it is winter... give up for now and try again when it gets warmer.
Try the reward system with a chart.. reward the good stuff and ignore the undesirable.... stickers are wonderful things to use on this type of chart.
Is your son afraid of something in the toilet or room where the potty is?
Is he comfortable on the potty? Try reading him his favourite book when he sits and don't read it to him until he does sit for required length of time.
There are brands of nappies around that look like underwear.. try these.
Has he been checked out medically to make sure there is no underlying medical problem here.
Does he prefer to sit on the proper toilet with an toddler seat like a big person?
Try, try again. Repetition usually brings results over a period of time. try every two hours and before and after meals but don't make a huge thing of it if nothing happens. Praise good results.
Finally.... good luck with it all...... remember he wont be in nappies when he goes to school! stay cool about it all.. it may not happen overnight.. but it will happen.

Don't force him, it will make things worse. He'll go as soon as he's ready, trust me. Boys take longer than girls. Once he decides it's time to go,he will go in a heartbeat. My son just took one week to get potty trained, he was three. My daughter was much easier at 2 1/2. Give him space and time. Patience is a virtue.

lol. have you tried putting a training potty next to his bed to see if hes really lazy? If hes being lazy i would get the cheapest diapers ever and make him wear them so if he pees in them he feels uncomfortable and if he starts to feel uncomfortable maybe he will start to rethink the potty. or who knows maybe hes at that stage where they do everything opposite of what you tell them to lol. good luck

put a smartie in front of it - every time he goes he gets the sweet. Or forego a potty and use the toilet and put a ping pong ball in for him to aim at! Gets the pee in too!

boys are much slower than girls. try not to push your son too much he will eventually get there. try putting him on the potty and sitting beside him whilst you read a book or play with his favorite toys. try giving rewards and don't make to much fuss when he pees himself

Just ask him to try. He will decide to be responsible later.
Keep him in diapers if necessary.
