i've heard this before, just curious, if you are on your honeymoon and you mention this to the right person at the airport, is it true that they upgrade you to 1st class?

Abolutely not. Maybe way back in the day, but especially in Vegas this is not true. In order to upgrade someone, it has to be documented why if its something other than a Medallion Upgrade or do to a Coach Oversale. Just saying you are on your Honeymoon will usually get you a smile and a congradulations, but thats about it. Sometimes I have just had to upgrade people randomly because Coach was oversold still after I upgraded all of the Medallions on the list. Then I just started picking people at random, first anyone who paid a full fare and then anyone around the desk that was dressed nicely. If someone may have mentioned being on their Honeymoon and I HAD to upgrade people, Id only do it IF they were dressed nicely, or overdressed for coach. No shorts and t-shirts, No sandals, Spaghetti Strap Dresses, no blue jeans or tennis shoes. If someone is dressed the part and I had an oversale and had no choice, that is who I'd Upgrade.

Can you ask for it...sure, will you get it...most likely not. If we just upgrade people "just because", it has to be validated. Now you can get fired for Upgrades if they are not warranted because a $200 round trip seat will not equal an $800 First Class seat if coach has plenty of seats. AND Medallions watch the list and even check up on things after they fly if they didnt get their Upgrade. Usually that will be enough to fill up a cabin, and then any Employee's or Friends and Family on their passes will then fill up the remainder of the cabin. Will First Class go with empty seats?? Sure. Do we have an obligation to fill them?? Nope.

Only one time did I have to put every passenger on a flight in First Class. There were 14 people on the flight all together and everyone had to sit in the front for take off to balance the aircraft. But everyone always asks, and in my 5 years, I never just upgraded someone because it was their honeymoon.

No... "Friends" episodes are not real life. Although it may be theoretically possible, it is unlikely unless one of the honeymooners has a very good frequent flyer status. The airline industry are the least generous people in the world. Infact, some of them are so bitter that if you told them you were on your honeymoon you would probably be more likely to get bumped off the flight then upgraded.

final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days i replace into upgraded to organization class on a international flight, and that i replace into flying on my own. This has additionally befell to my husband. If it may ensue to me, it may ensue to you! however the probability is narrow, and it wont ensue because of the fact youre on honeymoon. From what I understand, the components figuring out your improve contain how many times you fly, and the seats accessible that day. while you're staying at an fairly astounding lodge, be beneficial to point its your honeymoon. Theyll in all probability do something astounding for you.

Sometime, and I mean rarely, you can get 1st class seats, but only if their is a last minute cancellation....We have had luck once, but only because my wife is a travel agent and the stewardess knows us from traveling a lot.....we were lucky....good luck
