It's not "himself" - that makes utterly no sense. "My father's son" refers either to him or his brother, but he already states that he has no brothers. So, "My Fathers Son" refers to himself. Therefore, replace "My Father's Son" with "Me" and the phrase reads "That Man's Father is Me" so the answer is he is looking at a photo of his son.

For people who claim to have seen this thing hundreds of times, not so smart....
