Would we be welcome with open arms if we were stealing jobs,commiting crimes,refusing to learn and speak the language,being a burden to a welfare system that is in dire straights and just plain screwing up another country.Lets put the shoe on the other foot and remember Im talking about mexico and not other countries where the US government has made some poor decisions and terrible choices that the average American citizen has no control over except to protest and vote.

The line about illegals only doing work American citizens won't do is pure garbage! An excuse that the media helps to spread. If the only job I could find to feed my family was scraping the gum off bus station floors I would do it until something better came along.

And just how , exactly does this illegal labor make the country richer? I haven't seen my check yet!

Thirdly, as you enumerated incorrectly, illegals may not have the same legal RIGHT to expect services , but they are provided w services anyway because that's the type of compassion we have historically exhibited toward people in need all over the world.

And who ever said Mexicans were murderers? The reference was to criminal acts in general, & there is verifiable evidence that illegals commit crimes in numbers proportionally higher than other groups. And then WE pay for their legal defense, including a translator! I believe if someone has been in this country long enough to be facing criminal charges they need to learn our language, which happens to be ENGLISH!!

And yes I know that people from many other countrie are bilingual, & I think that's commendable & I'm proud for them. BUT, that doesn't change the fact that our language is ENGLISH.

If I decided to live in Germany I would not expect every one there, including the government to start providing me w English translations just because a lot of other Americans had moved there as well. The world doesn't work that way, nor should it.

Do some research, & don't believe everything your friends tell you! I admire the conviction with which you voice your opinion, but that doesn't make your opinion more factual.....sorry!!

One last thing, people of Mexican heritage are wonderful people!! My neighborhood is predominantly Mexican immigrants. At issue isn't their work ethic, or what race has the highest percentage on welfare!! Those are just convenient distractions to ONE SIMPLE FACT......illegal immigration is ILLEGAL!!

It doesn't matter where you came here from, what lanhuage you speak, how hard you work, or what a really great person you are,,,,immigrate here legally adhering to the law & you will be welcomed w wide open arms!!

I believe, there is a wrong part on America to begin with anyways. We are a capitalistic country which includes a very rough start to become such a strong and powerful country. Mexicans have gotten the end of the deal of everything, unfairly and unjustly. But what is quite comical about your question, is that you are asking in such a way that avoids any historical research or backing of any sort, you see, sir, the United States of America HAS invaded into Mexico, that is how California was aquired. I hope you understand what became of that right? People being killed, raped, and forced out of homes. America has taken advantage of a third world country and still does to this day, but complains about it at the same time. So if illegal immigration is so horrible, then why was it when any war has started, that the punishment and security of the border was somehow relaxed, and broncero contracts became in effect, and by the way, broncero contracts were written in english, so how would someone that had no or little schooling living in Mexico, forced to work since a child to live and eat, be able to read a intricate contract in english for work? And just a little known fact for you, if hispanics are such a burden, i suggest you get your facts straight first, please, did you know that the largest percentage of people that are on the welfare system and stay on it for the longest time are caucasian. As an illegal alien in Mexico you wouldn't be treated very well. First thing they would do is take your money then beat you and then rape you. (and that's just the police)

They would throw your sorry butt into a jail cell with standing room only with no bathroom. You will be lucky if one of them doesn't have leprosy.

You couldn't find a job in Mexico...there are none. The percentage of Illegal Mexicans committing crime is extremely small. All the illegals are not from Mexico..the Spanish speaking ones are all over central and south America. I agree...don't give them welfare, but I don't believe any healthy person should get it for more than 6 months. Most of the Mexicans I know were born in the USA and have been here for generations. Only the old people don't learn English...even some of the old ones from here. But my German grandmother never spoke English either. The reason there is no work in Mexico is their manufacturing went from Detroit..to Mexico and now to China..there are no jobs there. If you had been born there you would be a wet back in TX right now. It is just people trying to improve their lives. Get your politicians to pressure Mexico to improve their economic situation...along with the rest of Latin America.

Probably the most important thing everyone learns about America is that the number 1 rule means everybody has free will. Isn't the US an immigrant-built country? Isn't the US the only country in the world were all nations are accepted and adapted to a higher social standard without the use of force?

If you are a truly american, you've probably been away for a long time. Wake up and think how this country has become what it is today. With what support? What is our true identity? Isn't US the only country in the world where people are born being proud with their own national identity without having the fear of saying: "I am Irish", "I am Italian", "I am Jewish", "I am Muslim", "I am African", or "I am Hispanic" ? Assuming the shoe was on the other foot economically? The Mexican government would never have allowed it to happen. Mexico's laws are VERY xenophobic to say the least. They'd have put their military on the boarder and probably mined it long ago.

As for the jobs Americans won't do that's been proven to be bull sh!t by the Swift raids. All the illegals are being replaced by Americans. All it took was a raise in pay and the company actually LOOKING for them and all 1,200 are replaced in about 4 months.

Good question, but I don't think they would react well if the shoe were on the other foot and they found themselves with suddenly 20 million or more US illegal immigrants in their country. As well, do they have the same "anchor baby" law in that if these illegal American immigrants gave birth in Mexico, would all these babies automatically have Mexican citizenship? Would the babies and their mothers also automatically qualify for all the social benefits that the illegal immigrants seem to qualify for in the USA? Such as welfare, medical care, education, etc.?

Are you kidding me? Mexicans would welcome it. Mexico is so corrupt and poor. Americans couldn't take their jobs because number one, there ain't no jobs down there. Two, What's up with "my language is the best language" Mexico is a huge tourist destination. Do the majority of the tourists learn spanish before heading to mexico? These poor people are coming to america because their government has failed them. You've misunderstood, also, the work ethics of the mexicans. They believe it is an honor to work, and most work just as hard if not harder than the ceo of walmart. Do you plan to sign up and help pick our food harvest? When is the last time you saw an American man working as a field hand? It doesn't happen. We rely on Mexico just as much as they rely on us. There must be some way we can figure this out without building a fence along our borders.
