I have choosen to boot from the CD rom but the screen goes solid blank with a C:/>_, I tried to type win but it says command error. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

looks like your CD is not bootable....because you should see A:/ if it is booting from CD... Try giving the command win98 and if the folder is already there on your c drive you can run the setup.exe....if not then you can copy win98 folder from your cd to your hard drive and then run the setup.exe

You have not successfully booted from CD-ROM. In the BIOS Setup page, set the 'boot priority' to: CD-ROM, C:.


The Windows 98 CD is NOT bootable, you will need a Win98 Startup Floppy Disk.

restart the system
1.press delete to enter setup,change the first boot device as cd rom then restart
2.select start computer with cd rom support

You are in the DOS mode. Try typing dir to see anything displayed. Try going to the other drive by typing a:, d:. Tty typing sys to see what system os loaded. also try dir/w and see whether the window directory is there. If yes, then type cd windows, and then type win.

hi...change your boot devices to cd-rom boot first then hdd/floppy (from bios setup)
then restart you computer having the os cd in it
it will say boot from cd....,,,click any key (mostly enter) and u can go on....

if u do not know that and you have c:> well chage it to cd rom/dvd rom drive....
c:>cd d:> (where d:> your cd/dvd reader drive)
and u then have your setup.exe and you can go.....
