I drive a 52 plate 1.8 TDCI. and I've never had less than 50mpg average, hovvers up around 52mpg

I drive to please me rather than looking for economy athough I don't drive foot flat down,

I use the car for a return journey of just over 60 miles each day from Leicester to Grantham.

I use fast A roads (A46/A52) to get to work then come back via the A607 which is a twisty turny road.

I also use the car for normal running about and shopping etc.

According to this review (http://www.stevelarkins.freeuk.com/ford_focus_tdci_review.htm), it's about 50 mpg urban, and up to 70 mpg on a freeway... that's the peak though.

And those numbers sound pretty good eh. Wow.

it all depends on the nut holding the steering wheel
the faster you go the more you use.
