ive liked this guy for a while now (about 10 months) and he claims he liked me the same amount of time but when ever one was single the other was taken and finally after 10 months we both single.
we have flirted loads and had a few kisses.
last night when we was walking to get some food he held me close to him as we walked and i turn to him and asked him out he said maybe and i asked for him to explain it he said "i want to know u better first" is this just a nicer way of saying no.
it really confusing me though as he tells me he likes me then when i ask him out he says no :(

He is definatly not saying NO, he really does just want to get to know you better before he dives right in to something, hang out with him with friends, see how he acts around you if he pays special attention to you; i'll bet you he does. This guy probably has a few standards for dating including getting to know you first, spend some time together see if you are a good match it's not rocket science just dont take it the worng way, I can almost guarantee this guy likes you and he isnt saying no.

I don't think he said no, I think he genuinely likes you and wants to get to know you as a person. It could be the last relationship ended badly and he needs some time before getting in a new relationship. I wouldn't take it personally. Move slow and get to know him. It will be worth it in the long run.

well , at times girls take things negatively when guys says that he needs time and when girls say that it is taken positively...

well maybe he is right and he needs time .. well why not give him some time.. and donot rush into anything.. am sure he'll ask u out you eventually ..but donot talk about this again.. show him that you care but donot cling to him, you have already let him know how you feel.....let him decide and donot expect too much from him... and have a life of your own ...

Maybe he just needs sometime before getting involved with another relationship. If he just split with someone else that may be a part of the reason. Maybe he is just afraid of falling for you too, and getting hurt.

He wants to hit it, but he doesn't want the commitment.
He wants the fun without the relationship.

If you keep trying, he will pump you and dump you as sure as the sun will rise.--Just because he can.

Remember, you have the gold in this situation.
I'm sure that his indecision is making you more crazy about him; but indecision is a sign of not really being interested.
