I want to put a new credit card as the primary source of funds from my Paypal account, so when I buy something from Ebay the purchase goes on my credit card and not my bank account.

The Paypal funding hierarchy has always been very confusing to me.
They don't ever state it clearly but I think the deal is that they don't want a credit card to be your primary.
I assume that it's because a credit card carries with it the 2% fee and therefore every transaction on a card would cost them 2%.
So they allow a credit card as secondary just in case there is not enough in your bank account.
What I do is use my Paypal as a savings account, it pays over 5% and I always have money to buy something directly from my Paypal account.

Huh? Sorry, but why would you want some random person providing partial information, when you could go to PayPal and find out exactly what to do?
I do think they like to have checking accounts, not credit cards.
