ah step parents. I have had two sets my entire life. I think what is interesting is the feelings good or bad kids have for their step parent, not so much because of who the step parent is, but because of anger we have towards our real parent for getting re-married. It was very difficult for me when my dad got remarried and THEN had two more kids with her! My mom recently got married (again) and his two daughters had lost their mom in a car wreck so they have put a lot of blame on my mom when it should be directed at their dad. Go with what you know in your speech. Family dynamics are very interesting and confusing. No longer are families "normal" and black and white, there are so many shades of grey.
