Germans are genetically programmed to accept as de facto 'A glorious State Of Perpetual War' this pysco babble concept is as enthusiastically adhered to today as it was when first mooted in the early 1900's, then repromoted so successfully by the Germans during The War.
Conclusive proof of the exisitence of the (GDG) German Deffective Gene.
There is quite simply no Glory in a state of 'Perpetual War' if that is a state of 'Perpetual Defeat'.
Logically - a great disservice was done in Europe by not 'finishing the job'. A wonderful opportunity missed by Russia / UK / USA in eliminating this GDG ?

I have to say, I do to some extent agree - there is indeed a cold harshness about Germans, even modern day ones, that is quite distinct from the 'steel' some brits and americans have about them.
I've seen it on two occasions, one in a males eyes, the other in an ex-girlfriend; the same "Cold mental hell" willingness to wage war, all the more unsettling as it was almost identical in both unrelated people.
Although I use the word 'pacifist' in it's original, true complimentary sense, I wonder if the reason for the conditioned pacifism of modern German society is that it fears it's potential for future violence more than it regrets - and it does regret it bitterly - it's actual past violence.

Well - as I am German - I am very interested in your rassistic views. Now tell me how they differ from the views that Hitler had about the jews?? They are just rassistic - that's it.
Moreover your (and Hitler's) whole idea of "Germans" is such a crazy thing, you could hardly imagine. THERE ARE NO GERMANS. The Romans were here, the Huns, the French, the Mongolians were here. All this peoples have moved through or directly lived in today's Germay long periodes of time. All this peoples have mixed with the Germanic Peoples. Germany is in the middle of Europe - if the Germans have this GDG all Europeans have it. And - for sure - even the British. Because the Anglo-Saxons that conquered Britain were also a German tribe.
Furthermore you shouldnt forget that Germany in oppossite to Britain hasnt fought any real war in the last 60 years. And please dont forget what many historians of all countries have realised long time ago: The outbreak of the Second World War was (BESIDES OTHER THINGS) also a consequence of the peace treaty of Versailles (1919).

You may have a point, a very xenophobic point, but let us assume that there may be a genetic reason for a love of war in the Geman makeup...
Of course we English are part German, well Saxon to be precise, and have had our share of warefare, however, modern Germany is a mixture of French (Frank) and German Genes, and it is this mix which is the problem.
Take a look at the Napolonic wars, Hitler, and the largest gene pool of French/German Blood, - America. The US has been involved in virtually every conflict since 1870's. Of course officially they have the polcy of non-intervention, however, the wealth of that nation is built on a principal of perpetual war, and supplying both sides. War without defeat, because they don't like the get to involved when there is fear of shooting being aimed back.
By comparison, Germany was not a country - but a collection of seperate kingdoms until the 19th century, and like any newly developed state, went through a bloody evoloution process as it developed its maturity. The world question is how long is it going to take America to mature?
The truth is that people (gene pools) do not make war, but governments, and the US has a corrupt political system that has a propensity for attracting gung-ho idiots into office, Europe is not so unlucky.

The only people I know of in Europe, who have historically lived successfully in a perpetual state of war are the Celts. The Romans have gone but the Celts remain. When everyone else is gone, there will still be the Celts. Annoying, is it not?

Perpetual war for perpetual peace is an Orwellian concept and a title to a Gore Vidal book. It has little to do with Germans. It has to do with the state of uncivilization we are at.

IF that were the case, then nearly all Europe would be at war. What was the Japanese excuse?
I guess also that the English and Dutch would also have that gene, and also the Swedes who have not really even been involved in a war!

I don't agree. Generations of Germans are still deeply ashamed of what happened in WWII and have only just agreed to allow their army to assist in patrolling 'hot spots' around the world. The idea of there being a GDG is ridiculous and not scientific at all.

They haven't been at war for decades. Many many nations war just as often, if not more.
