It's strange to me being a white American, that it seems that racism is ok if it is done by anyone that is not white. I wonder if hispanics know that they are considered the white race? Kind of puts a kink in the ole' illegal alien racist thing. It's not working too well anymore. People look the other way if anyone is racist against a white. When a hispanic doesn't like something that is said, the first thing they do is cry racist. Do you think being a racist other than white is acceptable?
How often do you use racist as an excuse for your own shortfalls?

Yes, I agree with Glitter(sorry i couldn't read the rest of your name, sorry!).
Life is very different once, you are hispanic man and in a "ghetto" side of town and you are walking into a convenience store, rather than a white man. I am in a relationship with a hispanic man, and again and again, he has been stopped, or asked not to come in,(he dresses just like anyother guy, regular shirts and jeans, no gangbang crap) but they don't bat an eyelash at my white brother, or me, a white female. It is very easy to ignore the racism in America when you are white, society is more accepting, you can't choose the color of your skin. But i think racism is an excuse for your own doubts, its simple bullying, if anyone has made fun of you for being white, or making fun of your culture, maybe they are jealous because simply you are not stared down every time you walk out of 7-11, and as Glitter said before, you may get the job even if the other person of another ethinicity might have the same or better credentials.
I never use race as an excuse for anything, except my unability to tan, i sizzle like a friggin lobster!

I think it's easier to say when you have lived your life as a white and I'm assuming male person, a dominant figure in the American society. It's harder to understand what it may be like to experience racism when you have not been given the upper hand. Now as far as your claim that being racist against whites as being acceptable is simply untrue. You just don't hear about it as often because whites are the race (in America) that are least likely to have to deal with racist encounters. Claiming that people use racism as an excuse is quite a loaded statement. How is a Hispanic person who has just as good credentials and personality not receiving a job over someone who is white to blame for their "shortfalls". I assume from this question that you have been called racist and I am sure that hurts a lot. But, I would like you to think if what the person claimed is in any way true and if so how can you change your heart. It isn't pretty to be honest about the bad parts of ourselves. But, every hurtful experience can be turned into a learning experience.

.............. I think racism against whites, blacks, Hispanics,Arabic, or any group of people is wrong. So I strive in my life to try to treat people the way I would like to be treated. Because we do not live in a perfect world that does not always happen. However it does not stop me from trying, I try not to judge people, or label people. Just because some one is rude to me, and they are not the same race as I am I do not assume that there treatment of me is racism, or that anyone Else of there nationality would also act accordingly. One thing I have learned is, no matter how rude someone is if you keep your cool treat them nice they usually fill bad in the end. And it is not what someone Else thinks of me that is important it is what I think about myself that counts! We all occupie this planet together we have to be open minded, and not point fingers at one another that's all.

It isn't a reasonable way of assessing anyone - you need to treat people as individuals and moreover make judgements on what that person is like. It doesn't seem to apply to discrimination against white people by those of the frankly thick, 'right on' community.

That said, I remember when I went to a restaurant with my girlfriend for the first time and was made to sit in the worst seat of an entirely empty restaurant - an experience I had never had before - needless to say we just left and found another place that didn't treat people like that. It sticks in your mind when you encounter it for the first time.

i agree, it seems that a racist remark to the majority is acceptable, however if the remark is aimed at a minority then it is taken more seriously. what will the white population do once we are not the majority. and is it backward in other counrties where, say for instance hispanic is the dominate race. do whites cry racism more than hispanics in those countries?

Being racist is so stupid. I can't stand to be around people that hate, make fun of, or joke about any color. I am half white and half black so I get offended when anyone talks about any race. I wish we all looked like a rainbow so we wouldn't have all this **** going on still in this day and age.

I hate to say that in our country racist behavior is acceptable against whites. Not that it should be. Racism is wrong not matter who you are, but, we protect the minorities rights more than the majority. Diversity is a prime example of racism that is accepted against whites. Until our country believes that we are all created equal in America, Racism is a protected status for minorities.

Grieviance whoring is a good way to get what you want. It's an easy way which doesnt require work or effort. Don't worry. Race is only one way.....if you have the bad luck to be white then aim for height, age, weight, gender etc .....add -ist to the end and then you can be a successful grieviance whore.

Could it be that the politically correct deemed it extremely clever to keep and use the word racist, despite all scientific evidence there's but one human race?
