As someone else mentions, Russia is a very big place. If you are talking about the cities, no problem, or Nyet Problema. Mobile phones work better than the land lines. All UK mobile phone companies have roaming agreements although the cost is high. I have been charged over $10 a minute for using a UK Vodaphone in Moscow!! Outside the major cities, coverage is less reliable. I advise buying a PAYG SIM card when you get to Russia, it will probably be easier and much cheaper.

Hello,

(ANS) It very much depends upon which part of Russia, Russia is an awefully BIG place you know?. Russia is the BIGGEST land masses on earth!!, has 8 or 9 time zones from west to east. Can take as long as three weeks to travel by train from one side to the other. Even by modern Aircraft its an awefully long flight from west to east, I think its atleast 24hrs in the air.

**My guess is that if your staying around the Moscow area you will probably not have any problems with signals or reception for your phone. Dont know about top up's though.

**However if your going outside of the Moscow area that might be more problematic, espcially if your going to some where very remote like the Kamchatka peninnsula.

A mobile will work. However, the reception and comms is still pretty bad so although a mobile is likely to work, don't expect to get through. Also bear in mind that it will be expensive to use - I was in Russia a few years ago and the rates were exorbitant. I don't whether top up will work.

No - it particularly is not a valid quantity. the rustic code and city code are valid, however the cellular telephone quantity has one too many digits. it must be a typographical blunders - hitting 2 keys at as quickly as by twist of destiny - or it must be intentionally bogus. there is not any thank you to tell.
