It is important that your actions speak louder than your words. Just cause someone says nice things doesn't make them meaningful. My father rarely complimented my mom, but he worked his butt off for her and their family until he the day he died. He made sure she was well taken care of and that they never longed for anything, and if circumstances were not well he made sure we all knew that he was doing his best to take care of us. When she was sick and paralyzed from brain surgery, he was the one giving her baths and feeding her. Making sure she knew he cared for her and loved her. For their 25th wedding anniversary he bought her a necklace that on the inside said I love you, although he never verbalized it. Sure compliments and "purty" words are nice but actions are much more important.

If you ask me,women dont know what they want or like.If they have the nicest guy who compliments them and always treats them right,They get bored and desire a "Bad Boy".Then when this "Bad Boy" cheats on them, lies,or abuses them, all of a sudden they wish they had a "Nice Guy" and the whole process begins again. From my experiences DONT compliment a girl often or at all,and 60% of the time act like an ***.Women seem to grow really attached to guys who treat them like crap.Im being really serious.Im not saying there all the same, but most are.I know all you girls are going to think this is a stupid answer but sadly it is the truth.

I like when I get compliments from men, or women. And I do not "fish for compliments" as you are suggesting all women do.... That wouldn't feel very good because then I would know that they didn't really mean it, they just said it because I baited them into it. The girls with low self-esteem like to do things like that, tho. Maybe you should up your standards in women.
And you are right, you should not compliment someone if you do not mean it. I can always tell when someone is just feeding me a load of BullShit to "butter me up".

When you compliment a woman you have to be honest and original at the same time. I know this because women get bored when you give them the same old lines about amazing smile, beautiful eyes, blah, blah. Hey, I even did some research for you. This came from a woman who writes the dating column for Men's Health Magazine......
Give me a couple of sincere snaps--but make sure they're thoughtful. If you say you like my smile or my eyes, I've heard it before. Say, "Look at that dimple," or, "Wow, you have great eyelashes." Now you have my attention. Compliment my intelligence, sassiness, or unfaltering talent for ordering the best guac. Now you might get some ***.

It depends on the guy i guess and the impression the girl gets off the guy. I have had compliments from some guys where i have actually believed him and felt complimented but u get some from guys and u get this feeling of sleazyness

I think they eventually just get tired of guys who sweet-talk them and say nice things all the time. A compliment from one who does not often give it is something they will really like.

You could compliment her on her eyes or hair. Don't compliment her body, keep it above the neck.
Yes, we do it to appeal to women or sometimes just because we like something about them.
Some women like men like you but the real good ones, the mature ones, don't. Sorry.

Are you kidding? I eat up compliments whether they are true or not. You get points for sure if you do it.
