Adultery and cheating on your spouse ARE bad, BUT lifetime imprisonment is sooo much, too harsh! What's your point of view?

I heard about this case, this guy in Michigan is going to jail based on 30 some counts of adultery.
Look, he was a pimp who gave drugs to women in exchange for sex. None of the women will say it was rape, so the prosecutor is going to get him for adultery (guy is married) since it is still illegal in that state.
When you look at the facts of the case, I am glad this guy is going to jail, aren't you?
And our laws were based in Christian laws to begin with, so nothing has changed there.

Well the punishment was death according to Biblical law. But let he who is without sin cast the first stone. I'm sure the prosecution has cheated before. I'm sure the Judge has cheated before. The world is full of cheaters. So if they put him in jail for life they'll have to put everyone that does so after this case in jail and it will be full and they'll have to build more jails to hold all the cheaters. 80% of the population! Jesus what's next! We should just go back to 40 lashes -1. Good old fashioned whip.

are laws started with a christian background to them. these laws are good. i agree that is extreme however they base it on the fact that if you cheat you chance getting a lifetime diseace and then passing it to your spouse. you can defend this but then what if that guy got aids from cheating and did not know it and now his wife has aids. that is kinda like saying if you get caught drinking and driving you should not got to prison for it. but you risked the chance of causing an accident and killing an innocent. if a female cheated on her husband she is doing the same thing. chancing getting an accident and killing herself and husband. now if both are cheating or agree to it and that is how they want to then i dont think it should be. also you chance getting another women pregnant or yourself getting pregnant as well. and there are other diseases out there as well.

but i think this is why. there was a case on a guy who purposely went out knowing he had aids and passing it on to females without telling them. and who knows who those females slept with after and passed it on.

so when looked at it this way maybe it is understandable what the punishment is.

i am not saying this is not harsh at all or nothing either however getting aids and giving it to your spouse is very harsh. and cant be taken away.

ive always thought there should be a punishment for this but your right this is way too extreme. i guess it all comes down to; be careful whom you put your trust in, and hope if anything like this happens, the two of you are mature enough to handle it together through "civil" understanding and communication.

cheating is bad but with consent it seems okay.
Adultery leads to suspicion, misunderstanding, quarrel and many more. So it was a practical thing to do for a peaceful living.

that law applies to faith /loyalty to god
thou shalt not have any god nor son before me type of thing
be married to god ,by our faith to god remain as a child
do not become grown up and think you dont need your god

ye think god loves you to fornicate with lesser faulse gods
remain true to our god.
that you be not guilty of the highest betrayal to god.

i don't think it's harsh as it put shame on the name of the person who has been cheated.
