how do i make Notepad work?

Because when i open it it say to me:"the application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click ok to terminate the application" .WHAT SHOULD I DO?????

Three words"Note Tab Light". I use this instead of Notepad and it's free. You can get it off od download.com and it is a lot more sopistocated than notepad but just as simple to use.
