People of religion that are questioned with undoubted evidence of their fallacy keep trying to disprove fact at all costs just to make them feel more secure?

I almost sense that when complete evidence on the contrary towards religion is given, religious people will do whatever it takes to disprove fact even though its soooo logical perfect just to make them feel that they havent speant their whole lives believing a lie?

I mean many of these people have grown around this and their entire lively structure is based on religion, and they dont wont to admit that what they have put soooo much time into is, infact, not true. I meen, what would you do if you believed that the world was flat, and your whole life revolved around proving this theory and one day some one proves its indeed not flat but a sphere? Im sure you would come up with all the explanations trying to justify your lifes work making the world flat.

Yes, I think that's human nature. No one likes disappointment and they'll try to avoid it if they can.

As for the other question, I don't recognize you. I usually only recognize a handful of people, like the ones who answer every question first or people with easy to remember names. The really obnoxious people stick out too like the constant gay bashers and racists.

It's a two way street. You don't want someone telling you you're ignorant and a moron for thinking what you think, right? I admit, some push religion on people who don't buy the God thing, that's wrong. You're generalizing that all Christians are that way and you're oh so wrong. As a Christian with an actual brain, I don't do that. I don't try to get someone to think like I do. If asked, I'll tell. That's it. You're generalizing and demeaning people who choose to think a certain way. You're just as bad as the people you're claiming have no sense and can't see whatever it is you want them to see or not see. Your way of thinking is logicial to you and only you. Some may agree with you but I can bet no one agrees with your logic entirely. That being said, let people live their friggin' lives already. Why does it matter to you if someone wastes their life having faith in a God you don't think is there? Does it stop your paycheck? Do you lose sleep at night over this? Didn't think so.

If you encounter these so called blind people, expect them to defend what they believe. You do. Are you wrong for that? We're all on this earth for a period of time, it's a hell of a lot easier to just live and let live than cry about what doesn't affect you in the slightest.

I spend a lot of time here too, but I don't recognize you. (Since you asked.)

As far as evidence of spirituality goes, there is no evidence that can be presented in support of or against any religious belief. The only "evidence" is personal experience, which is different for each individual. If you have not experienced it, it is not true for you. But how can you deny the experience of another? You can't. Just leave it at that.

And I would ask you if you were given proof as to the nature of Jesus Christ, wouldn't you just scramble and yell and say you won't believe it till you see the "DVD?"

As to you, yes, I've seen you around a lot. You generally ask questions that are anti-Christian, but you do it in a thoughtful way, I appreciate your time in this category more so than the trolls. I am more willing to answer your questions than I am toward others'.

The Bible never EVER said the world was flat. In fact in Issiah it talks about the "curves" of the planet, indicating otherwise. The Catholic Church thought the world was flat, please don't confuse the two.

Actually it's the other way around.... no matter how much evidence is presented, some people would rather believe there is no God.

Just think, if there really IS a God, do you think He would leave us without a clue? The problem is that we are rebels by nature and do not want God in the picture, so we fight and argue Him out of our existance relentlessly.... But He waits patiently for us to come to our senses..

But then, religion does get in the way many times because man has to mess with the simplicity of simply believing in God. So, then someone like you sees only the fabric of manmade religion and throws out the baby with the bathwater...

If you are serious in your quest for knowledge of God, He will honor that and reveal Himself to you... but only if you are sincere.

Oh and by the way, I was 23 when I first believed... it wasn't something that was thrust on me by well-meaning parents, it was the result of soul searching, many experiences (good and bad), and finally the mercy of God. None in my family has ever been "religious" except for me, but I don't call it that; It is more like simply having my eyes opened to reality, and having a knowledge of a loving God through His Son Jesus; a God that is not afar off, but one who I can call Abba Father...

It's not just people of religion, everyone acts that way. Each has a reality tunnel, a set of filters that get used to interpret everything around them. What people perceive as reality is nothing more than a fable created inside their own heads from information filtered through their Reality Tunnel.
So, while your reality is religion is bunk, in another persons reality, religion is a living force, almost as vital to life as food or water.
It's interesting to watch people fight over which truth is true, when really what people call truth is nothing more than a product of their Reality Tunnel.

I know exactly what you mean...why the faith without fact and/or logical reason? That's the whole meaning of faith in their eyes. But you cannot have faith without some kind of reasoning to back it up, that causes it to be blind faith, so basically we have a bunch of sheep following a herd of unknowledgable leaders. Seems a bit confusing to me...

My mom believes in God completely. I do not. She swears that it has helped her in her life immensely. That every time she has a hardship, God helps her and she's alright again. But for me, when I went through suffering (and this is when I actually used to believe in God, or at least that he was a loving god) I would pray and pray and ask God to help me. No help was ever given to me. And I used to thank God for what he supposedly had given me as well, I did not only go to him for help. I turned away because I lost everything important to me. Mainly the people that mattered most in my life. And all of it happened seemingly at one time. Anyway...the thing is this: When you have someone that believes in God, and believes that faith has helped them, it's hard for them to let go of somthing like that. Even if they know in their subconcious minds that none of it is true, they still believe because they do not want to think that they are alone. Maybe it is something different as well, I'm not sure. I clung to Christianity so long because I wanted to believe that there would always be someone there for me, no matter how many people I lost. But I saw past the veil of lies and learned the truth. There is no Loving God. Maybe it was God who created us, but this God has no control over our lives, he is simply observing us as his experiments. I think God wanted to know, maybe still wants to know, (if he even exists) how he came to be. We were constructed of his image, and I think he wanted to see how his spirit/image and whatnot evolves through actual matter.

There is no "evidence to the contrary" as you say. Personally, I don't look at Asker's names, but others may recognize your name.
