In England and Wales, most tackle shops sell them on behalf of the regional water authority.

For fishing in salt-water and in Scotland and Ireland for coarse fish, a licence is not required. Be aware however that a permit or day-ticket from the local fishing club or landowner can still be needed in addition to a licence.

The local tackle shop will be able to advise you on what you need in your area.

Tight lines!

Support your local Post Office before you lose them, get your licence there. You don't need an Environmental Agency licence for children under 12 yrs old or for sea beach fishing. (UK)
When you fish clear up your mess, a few are giving the rest of us a bad name by leaving their crap onsite. Beer cans,ring-pulls and old line and hooks can be lethal to wildlife. Be lucky

To get a fishing licence ,you must apply to the ministry concerned through the department of fisheries and pay all the necessary fees required after having been approved by the concerned departmental head.

depends on the state. most states will have them at baitshops or dnr offices. some states have age limits, some you can order them online thru your states dnr web page. here in indiana you don't need a license till you turn 17, also 65 and older doesn't need them. if there is a bait shop close, give them a call. bet they got em.

At your local sport store, tackle and bait store, and even walmart sells them. usually it's around $15 for Freshwater. and like $30 for both Fresh and Saltwater. Always keep the license while fishing!!!

btw...you don't have to have a license at paylakes and public piers.
