No wisdom is the ability to recognise areas of doubt, the total lack of superstitious medieval belief, the end of the process of wondering and the beginning of all things new.

However, Religion is the beginning of doubt, in that the more you adhere to a religious teaching, the more you deny the facts around you, and justify your actions by doubting anybody who holds up a mirror to your face.

Religion is also the death of belief, in that most world religions supplant any personal theories you may have with their own branded set of theologies, and are afraid of any individuals who do not follow their code to the letter. They brand them heretics, and persecute them more harshly than they would do a non believer.

Religion is also the start of wonder, that is the point in our children's development when they try to indoctrinate them, and thus the process of exploration is truncated at the start of the process - before the child is able to truly get a taste for enjoying diversity.

Religion will also be the end of all things, in that the lemmings are so obsessed with the myths they develop about the end of the world, that they are prepared to ignore the behaviour that will enable this planet to survive. Indeed, many Evanjelicial Christians are trying to speed up the process of Revelations; they can't wait for it to end.

Wisdom starts from a position of doubt & is the birth of belief, the start of wonder & the begining of all-things... from a Buddhist perspective that is... Buddha said "question everything I say" & from that position true wisdom will form...

Wisdom is the point at which you laugh at the universe, when you can see that the whole thing is nothing more than a cosmic joke, and obviously the platypus is the punchline.

Zeus no longer rules the world. We no longer worship Ra; one of these days, the God of Abraham shall fall to similar ranks as the gods of Science beget the faiths.

My only fear is that Reason and Logic will one day suffer the same fate and fall by the wayside.
