I hate windows ME, so I want to know if windows 2000 is better before I buy it.

windows 98 is better than ME, it was only released to make money untill they came up with something better, in my opion 2000 is the best win os they,ve made, not enough room here to say why, i,ve been building and repaireing comps since 2001, i,ve ran 98,me, 2000,xp,xp64,vista,vista64and at least 7 versions of linux, i have xp media center on my outher comp, but this one is 2000

Yes of course its better, win Me is very old why you still use that?! but if you want to buy a new windows, I suggest you to but Windows XP or Windows Vista but first you must make sure your computer is compatible with any version of windows which you want to buy

ME is a downsized version of Microsoft's OS. If you are looking for a new system go to XP PRO if you can afford it, if not then XP home. it is a much more stable system.
If you look around you should be able to pick it up fairly inexpensively..

Vista is better than XP.
