If your wages are being garnished, when you go to file your taxes, do they take your return?

if you owe certain debts (taxes, child support, student loans) they can withhold the refund, but it does not matter where go go to have taxes done, just make sure they are good at it (like a C.P.A)

With federal debts, yes.

The IRS is the official collection agency for the federal government. That's why they're the ones collecting taxes for the US Treasury.

(Federal debts include child support imposed by state authorities...)
