I know this is harsh but there`s not a lot you can do for him
He needs to see a Dr i think when the pain gets so bad he`l be glad to see a doctor
All you can do now is keep nagging him

You just described a condition I had 6 mths back. This injury was due to inadequate warming-up prior to bowling, at point of releasing the bowling ball, I think I twisted my left hip, the first 2 weeks was painful.
What I did to alleviate the pain was to endure more pain, I applied "Deep-Heating Ointment" by Mentholatum and wrapped my hip with broad bandages to keep it warm for an hour.
Do this in the evening after a shower and before going to bed. Lie down on the injured side.
Bear in mind, after application of the ointment the skin feels pretty "hot". But if rashes and itch do occur do not use the ointment.
I augmented my speedy recovery, by rubbing some ointment on the outside of the thigh of the injured side. Hopes this will help!

I would suggest seeing a GP but like other people have said there is also the NHS Direct - the phone lines are operated by nurses I believe. And then there are loads of information sites on internet about general health/symptoms and so on. Pocketdoctor.co.uk is one - although dont get too scared - sometimes they come up with the most severe answers!

He may have a bladder infection. He may also have a prostate problem. Either way, he needs to swallow his pride and get to his GP asap. This type of pain should not be ignored.

I suggest when the pain gets really bad, & he DOES start complaining to you, tell him serve him right - he should've gone to a GP when you said to go.
