It's sort of too late now. You should ask earlier.
For example, if the birthday was in January. Ask him what he would like for christmas in August or October. DO NOT get him that for christmas. Get him that for Birthday.
I don't know what your bf would like. I would just like a romantic date. That way both people could have fun and he would think you did something special for him. Thats just me though.

Give yourself to him,Unconditionally for the entire day.Do everything together for the whole day,Make him feel like he is the only person that's important to you.He'll love the attention that you give him.Basically worship him as if he was the the only male left on the planet.Hang on that's my fantasy,Oh well,you can use this suggestion if it entices you.
