Okay so my best friend has met my bf only once or twice she doesnt know him in person at all, she demands and expects that I tell her everything that happens between him and I. Not only that, but she also sometimes calls him a jerk or an idiot as a joke *for no apparent reason*. Anyway I didnt really care back then because she was more important to me than he was. Anyway, my bf proposed and we are now engaged. Its a very serious relationship and she sometimes still jokes about him in a disrespectful way and that pisses me off more than ever now! I just dont know if I'm being a bit old fashioned here but..the way I see it is that this guy will be my husband, he's no longer just a bf or a hook up. His friends respect me and my best friend should as well *specially that he's a great guy and she doesnt even know him!*

I told her that it annoys me and she was upset and told me that I will leave her for him and that when I marry him we will no longer be friends and weird stuff like that!!

We've dated almost a year and the reason she hasnt seen him is that she's single and I always go out on double dates with my other not single friends. I've asked her to come hang out with us but she hates being the only single one.

It sounds like she is a bit jealous, but my main question to you is how long have you been dating this guy? If he has only met your "best friend" twice, call me crazy but that kind of sends up a red flag to me. It sounds like there is more to this story, but I just hope that you are making the right decision. Sometimes our friends can give us valuable advise from a viewpoint that isnt warped by puppy-love, but that is only if they are true friends, the way you tell this story it sounds like this girl isnt really a friend.

It sounds like she is jealous of your relationship. She said herself that you will leave her for him and when you marry you will no longer be friends. She is just afraid of losing your friendship, and is going about expressing her fears in a very immature way. You should talk to her.

You're friend is straight-up jealous. Maybe not of you, but of your situation. She's single and has been for a while and her best friend is engaged to be married. If she can't accept this than she doesn't deserve to be your friend anymore.

She's jealous and feels threatened by him. Most people outgrow each other you might eventually lose contact because married people and single people run in different circles. She needs to grow up before she loses your friendship.

She sounds unstable, you shouldn't have allowed her to call him names from the start. Your just as much at fault as she is, she needs to get a grip though.
