This whole thing about illegal immigrants is ****** up! None of us evolved on North America, we came here as immigrants!
The Mayflower settlers were the first illegals, when they came to a land populated by the North American Indians.

OK let's just ignore every law that YOU think is unfair....waaaaaah
Personally I enjoy living in an area of this country w a diverse population & make it a point to learn from folks whose cultural heritage is different from my own.
Having said that we have a process, it's very clear & completely reasonable with regard to expectations placed upon each American citizen in the making.
The everyday conveniences most of us take for granted cost money, & providing them to someone who is here illegally means we are providing for people who use those services , but pay no taxes to help the rest of us pay the tab.
Imagine this, your house is much nicer than mine, so I want to move in w you......and you have more food in your refrigerator too....and you have whatever.....while I'm a charitable guy, & obviously so are you, there would come a day when you said, "hey I really think you;re a nice guy but could you contribute to what all this costs?"
Well I don't know, I don't have much money cuz I can't get a good job because I broke this law.....& hey, you have to pay for the house anyway. Me living here doesn't make it cost more"
I guarantee you would not find it a reasonable trade off. All that's being asked is to follow the system now in place. It's the law , & we expect laws to be obeyed in our country or there are consequences.
The people of the United States made these laws for a sound well thought out reason. To provide for an orderly, documentable transition to immigrants seeking US citizenship.
Any comparison to native American indians is WEAK, kind of like me carrying a gun on my hip, & calling a man out for a showdown at noon, then shooting him.
Might have worked in the old west, but as times have changed laws have changed. Obey the laws, or get yourself elected & change the laws.
And don't even try to argue that we need illegal immigrants because they perform the work others aren't willing to do. Plenty of folks in this country are seeking employment, and even if the job isn't their first choice, it looks good when you're broke & hungry.
And BTW, yes, employers who hire illegals are breaking the law, & should be punished as well.
Check out other countries around the globe. They have laws of their own, some very different from ours. See what happens if you decide to ignore the law in other countries, the result just might open your eyes!
Late addition...you GO Rebecca, thanks for weighing in. What the immigrants from Europe did to Native American Indians was deplorable, but drop that argument!

A very high percentage (regardless of what "Latino Pride says - that's one illegal immigrant living in his fantasy world). I consider myself very liberal and am a college student (psych major). Although I'm very liberal on everything like environment, crime, economy, international relations, etc... I do often find myself disagreeing with liberals on many racial issues - such as this one (immigration), Affirmative Action and groups/individuals that I think are racist (NAACP, Al Sharpton, Rev. Jackson, ACLU, etc...).
I think most Americans realize the United States can not prosper with such a huge influx on undocumented immigrants coming into the country.

That's an incredibly difficult question to answer concisely, considering how many different ways it can be phrased. (Think: "lies", "damn lies" "statistics"). Consider the question "Should illegal aliens be entitled to federal entitlement programs?" (e.g., welfare, medicaid, in-state tuition, etc.)" When it hits the pocket book, you can count on a solid 60-65% of the public to be against it. Change things a bit, as in "Should the children of illegal aliens be entitled to a free public education?" suddenly the resolve goes down into the low 20% range; nobody wants to deprive an innocent child of an education, after all.

The single largest majority in the entire poll was found among Americans supporting use of the military to guard the border. Fully 68 percent of those surveyed agree with the statement, "the U.S. should deploy military troops on the border as a temporary measure to help the U.S. Border Patrol curb illegal immigration." Only 28 percent disagree, and 3 percent are unsure.
Zogby's poll found that 58 percent of Mexicans agree with the statement, "the territory of the United States' Southwest rightfully belongs to Mexico." Only 28 percent disagree, and 14 percent are unsure.

~Some Guy, I'm Native American Indian and I'm dead set against "Illegal Immigration." Why do you think it's called "illegal?" I think most other Americans are tired of it as well.
It doesn't matter what economic status one has to be against something illegal!~

Not sure the % but I can almost assure u that those are for it, have enough money to survive daily, drive new cars, pay health insurance, etc.. They don't ever have to worry about social security running out or needing assistance with food, rent, etc. Most of them have more than enough money to live till death.. They don't go to work everyday for $6.00 an hour and have to pay expenses out of that.. Most of the people that want illegals here are the employers who hire them and pad their pockets with the money left over..

I can only hope that most of the citizens of the USA are against the illegals!! Why should we be for something that breaks the law? Why not ask who is for drunk drivers? or Murderers? There are laws for a reason and I really don't care who breaks them!! Anyone who does should go to jail or get the hell out of my country!!
KEY WORD IS ILLEGAL!!!

You question makes no sense.
Maybe you should ask what is the next course of action people are in favor of regarding illegal immigration.
