Hello! I am from Andhra Pradesh. In our state also the govt. introduced english with Telugu. According to your opinion, in competetive world it is necessary to learn english along with mother toungue. But you have to think also about the mental status of children and think whether they can compete with the standard of syllabus given to them. If it wasn't thought by the govt. the situation will become worse and the children wouldn't get either mother toungue or english.

A mind of a child, today, is: alert, avid, active. So, almost any subject can be taught to children, nowadays.

Any language is best learnt in childhood, because the mind is flexible, fresh, accepts almost any concept without opposition.

If You know two or more languages, your mind will be more open, your thinking process will be in a higher level, and You will have more opportunities, not only to jobs, or studies, but for more knowledge, without boundaries or limitations.

So, of course the learning of two or more languages in children is a very good educative policy.
