I'm moving to San Antonio, TX so we can be closer from each other, but that will be in about six months. What should i do to make it work.

My girlfriend will be abroad for 7 months. Really, distance kills relationships. So you need to remain, patient and strong. Best solution would be to communicate with her every day by IM, email, text messages. Something to keep your relationship going and worth while.

My friend lives in CA and her man in the Dominican Republic! They've been together for over 2 years. The way it works for them is because she goes there like 3-4 times a year (he can't come to the US due to citizenship and legalities). We all thought she was crazy, but it seems to really be working out. They talk on the phone a lot too and plan surprises for each other when possible.
Like if you have a friend who is going to Mexico where she lives, have them meet her and take a gift for her from you.

I live in AUS and my girl lives in GA xD Long distance is hard at the best of times. Phone calls are always helpful, as are E-Mails, Hand-Written letters, etc. Any form of communication you can get, take it. But i'd say it's most important to trust the other the same way you would in a physical relationship.

Communication and being faithful are probably the biggest things when dealing with a long distance relationship!

Talk as much as you can. When you talk you grow closer then most people in an all physical relationship. It does get hard, theres no lieing about that, but if its worth the wait its worth anything :)

Demand that she wait for you in Mexico until she is 85 yrs old. Then, visit her every three months for long weekends. Ensure she and her girlfriends are all part of the 'party'.

It is imperative that she "reward" you for your visits.

YOu'd better come in contact with her with every possible way-phone, sms, fax, e-mailes, etc. Be in contact with her every several hours, for example. Make her think of you often too. Be honest. Be tender. And of course go and see her when it's possible.

I could never make it work, but I imagine the best way is to call her every day, make sure she doesn't lose interest in you. Send her pics and packages and stuff.
