Making the most of the time you have here on this earth is logical, no matter what you believe, but to live life as though nothing comes after it is not wise.
Proverbs 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Many people may leave or walk away from religion, but there is little likely hood that the associations of religious experience that have permeated their lives will ever simply end. There may be a tendency to replace some concepts of religious belief with very similar secular ones. Such individuals may find themselves second guessing their new-found freedom of mind by explaining various phenomena in alternative, though still superstitious, ways.
I was a member of a religion. I walked away, convinced by reason and rationality to abandon my affiliation. However, I still find myself craving the simple answers to life's challenges that were provided by my faith ...
For only for the briefest of moments I will doubt my dedication to being honest with myself and accepting the uncertainty of my existence.
The ideas of many (perhaps all) religions are extremely powerful and complex. Like an addiction - taking the easy path to pleasure - these ideas fulfill a deep psychological need.
No matter the acceptance of reality, many people will be unable to escape effect of the ignorance and poor critical thinking which had been a pervasive part of the complexity that makes in them a mind.
Good luck in proselytizing the value of uncertainty and the importance of living with one life.

My religious thoughts and ideas will never come to an end because I'm a christian. The bible proclaims, "It is appointed unto man once to die and after this, the judgement." So we go on after this mortal life, to live in imortality. But that doesn't mean we should not try to make the most of this life, also!

Not gonna happen,
you have your view, and i have mine. And i want you to see how right mine is just as much as you want me to see how right yours is. But if I'm wrong what am I out? My life has really never been better since I have been born again. One of the best things that has happened to me is that i was finally able to stop drinking all the time. I had a drinking problem, and have been delivered from it. Not because I felt guilty, but because I felt freed from something that always brought me down. I feel myself being built up every day, not torn down. "I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me"(Phillipians 4:13) So where is the harm in that, true faith in the Lord?

When will your riligious thoughts of evolution come to an end? That's right, evolutions isn't science, it is a faith and Darwin is the head of this modern religion called Evolutionism.

My thoughts and ideas will come to an end when I am in Heaven as God has promised to all of us believers and who have accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior. The reason my thoughts will come to an end is because my thoughts will then be reality.

Thanks for the heads up on the lack of an after life, IYO.
The jury is still out and there are many pending theories. I do lean towards your thinking though; this is not a dress rehearsal, this is the big show.

responce to "Pretty":
faith cannot be all that you have. if you wish to make this a better place dont just sit there and pray, get up, get out, and get busy doing something about it! this world neads active people to make a differance. feed the hungry, donate to charities you believe are important. life is rich when you make it rich for others.

After all hope has died...That is when mine will end.
There has to be something that can make this miserable and rather tragic world better...I have to believe that, without that I am left with nothing...
I have hope for the future because of my faith.
