Someone told me it snowed there the other day during the freeze that the central valley was getting. Is this true?

On January 17, 2007, it snowed on Kanan Road (3 inches!) near Malibu. And Malibu is a beach community---so it was its first measurable snow in 50 years, and a record for the city. It stayed on the ground all day, due to the fact that the temperature only reached 48 degrees, another record for the day. It is unusual for temperatures to stay below 60 degrees any day of the year in Malibu.
It snowed in other areas of Los Angeles too--like Westwood, and some parts of the San Fernando Valley. Crazy...

It snowed in Malibu hills on Wed. jan 17 at about 12:30p Then last time was in Feb 1988. I was there for both

1998. It was very light and did not stick, nothing major and it was gone when it hit the ground. Kind of residual from the El Nino that year
