Eating plenty of fruit and veges prevents constipation and regular bowel habit. The more fruit you have in your diet the more regular bowel habit you will have. Then when you get older you will not suffer from large bowel cancer or diverticular disease. It has been proven that when you do not eat enough fiber the amount of time the toxins remain in contact with your intestinal cells will be longer and this can damage the cells and promote cancer. In general a diet which is rich in vitamins and fibers plays a very important role in your well being.
