I think you are phrasing the question wrong - so you mean 10 areas where a realtime process is is adapted? Realtime can run on any primary platoform but today's platforms (OS) would mean WIndows, Unix and Linux based for the most part. Realtime usually means database activity and it makes more sense to name off for applications where realtime databases are used. For example, when I click submit when I am dome typing this this it adds my submission to the DB on the click - this is realtime. Are you talking client based and server based? Unix BSD, Unix Solaris, Unix HP, Linux Redhat, Windows Server 2000, Windows Sever 2003, MAC OS, AIX, SCO, Mandrake, NT are all OS' that can provide the platform for realtime apps. Purchasing systems (credit card), auctions, stock markets, GPS, yahoo answers, online testing, traffic news, class enrollment, inventory management, chat applications, online dating can all be good applications for realtime db applications. There are 10+ applications and 10 OS options to support them.
