You did your time honorably. And now because you are upset about whatever or just trying to run with a cause you want that erased.
Well burn em, shred em or mail them to someone who cares. The fact that you did time in the military CANNOT be erased. The Government has certain legal obligations to you as a veterean since you completed your legal obligation to them.
Then lets talk about VA benefits: Help you buy a house, start your own business, pay for schooling etc..
My personal opinion is that you are a acting like a fool... And I can only hope that you refused your separation physical, thereby releasing the US Government from any and all medical conditions that could arise in your future.
PS If you are really that dischanted about the US Military and the Government, I hear that the Grand Mullah in Iran is looking for a few good flag burners.

The discharges are not worthless, they show that a job well done was done. However, in your case, they may wish to re evaluate the RE code on your.
Do the Country a favor too, give back your retirement check if the government is so bad.

I don't know if you've had to look for a job lately but you have to account for all times employed. Your DD-214 will give proof of your military time (lie and you don't get the job). Also, there are benefits for being honorably discharged. Ever hear of the GI loan for your home? Geeze I can't believe some people are so stupid. Burn it if you want, but don't come crying to us if you don't have one and need your DD-14 quickly. I keep mine (and my son's) in our safety deposit box.

"Honorable discharge" basically means you completed your contract with commitment, that you saw it through... It means your contract expired, and you're on good terms with the Military and Government as a whole. It's not an award or medal that you get for doing something noteworthy in your career, it's just a comment that the contract's up and you're done.

Go get some counseling dude it sounds like you are still very angry. Turning in you discharge accomplishes nothing except making you look like a mental case.

I'm pretty sure they are very happy you're no longer there as well.
Especially as you're misrepresenting what you see around you with the troops.
