It can argued that making it hard, both physically and mentally, is the point God has for you to realize. What if you came to the conclusion as some spiritual thinkers who had that sudden flash of insight. You haven't had that happen but you don't devote your thoughts to that level. It is easier to scratch off and drink and take drugs like you do from time to time. You are doing that tonight. I shows. Yours is the same as the majority of other people. That separates the proverbial sheep from the goats. Yes, it is a matter of measuring up. That may be a step in God's plan to -- whatever --- populate his universe. You know zero about that. You have never thought about it. But you are able to skip the thinking and reaching a decision. Why doesn't he just jump out and shout out something? Do really think that is an answer. Just do like Earl my friend and start cleaning up your Karma.

Not to get all preachy but just because you believe in God, that doesn't mean your life will be easy. I think it would be fairly easy to believe in a God that gives you whatever your heart desires just because you say you believe in Him. It's the free will thing. God did come out and say "Hey, I'm God". That was Jesus. See what happened to Him?
It's not a charade, it's pretty cut & dry. God's not the reason people suffer. That was a human choice. It's fine if you don't believe. More power to ya but, belittling something that others hold true doesn't make them stupid. You can get your point across without implying that.

wookie x 3 : You have inaccurately described the God I worship !!! One has to have a relationship with Jesus Christ [God], to come into spirituality - to come to know God. Then, and only then, can one arrive at a sound, genuine evaluation of who God is . There exists no people ever, who can make the claim that "have done nothing" ! Good and evil befall all people, at some time in their individual lives ! This world, as we know it, was not created to be a heaven on earth . We are created to have a relationship with our heavenly Father through Jesus Christ. Until that time, we have to come to know, that as individuals, we are NOT God and are in NEED of Him. That is why, my friend, we have this world in a demise right now; i.e. global warming, Nuclear Arms build ups, chaotic weather, threatening disease pandemics - all prove the scope of mankind's reliance upon himself is limited ... in need of an UNlimited solution ! These aren't charades nor are we involved in a game ... this is about life and death of our human species !!! I don't follow a belief in a "God" because He's some kind of kook - but because it is a REALITY !!!

There are a number of arguments for the worship of and belief in God. I once saw a rather eloquent way of explaining it. It is from the show Judging Amy.
"The way I see it there are 3 choices.
A:) There is no God. Which means everything is random and there is NO hope of things getting better.
B:) There is a Cruel and Hatefull God.
C:) There is a benevolent and loving God, that while I as a man cannot understand all of his doings, I can have faith in and hope to one day learn more about and understand"
The character is then asked how do you choose C. The response is simply "My Daughter"
I try to always remember that just as I hope/expect my niece to have faith in me, even though she may not understand why I do what I do, I need to have faith in Jehovah, and need to realize that while I cannot comprehend it all I can have faith in Him.
Also I remember the fact that Jehovah is in no way the CAUSE of wrongdoing. Satan is, the Demons are, and Man is.

Sorry. That's not my God. I don't know where you came up with these things. That is what the DEVIL does, not God. THE POOR I KNOW BELIEVE IN GOD THE MOST. They are some of the most HAPPY people I know, even those who suffer. I pray you will see the truth. People suffer from their sins and from others mistakes, or to grow. God gave us freewill. The Devil tries to trick us and destroy this world. I wish you would go to church and see for yourself. I believe in God because He has done many MIRACLES for me. I FEEL Him and SEE Him in life. He ANSWERS my prayers, gives me PEACE, and HELPS me each day. None of us would be alive if not for Him. I can listen to how He's changed people and know He's real. He SAVED MY LIFE. When I look around, I wonder how everything could be from evolution? What makes people not believe in God? He is full of LOVE and KINDNESS.

At first I though it would be a good idea to encourage my wife & kids to go to church so I could have sunday morning to myself. I used to think christians where a big joke, then my wife decided she would become a christian. We had a few other christians at our place & they started to pray, well at that exact moment I felt a presence in the room & I couldn't breath at all, I couldn't stay in the same room as them, so I ran outside to catch my breath. I had a lot of wrong ideas about God but after looking into it I have been surprised to find a lot of answers. I disagree alot with others, I find things out the hard way, but I work it out between myself & Jesus.
God is Loving but he is also Just, & for me that's perfect.

Please read my words carefully:
If you see footmark in the sand, you'll say that someone passed from here...
If you see a piece of dog sh*t on the ground, you'll say that a dog passed from here...
So what about the enormous universe, the sky, stars, planets, earth and all the beauty in it, doesn't it lead to that someone made it?!!!
Some people say that everything is created by itself after the big-bang... I won't ask you about what caused the big-bang, but I'll ask you a simple question:
If you take all the letters of the alphabet, multiples of them, and you threw them randomly on the floor. Do you expect (by a chance of one in infinity) to get a poem like shakespear's??!!
Can't you see how organized our universe is, the planets, the eco-system on earth, look even in your own body... Can you control your heart-beat? Can you control your breath while you're sleeping? Who stopped your eye-lashes from growing after reaching a certain length? Who told the baby turtles to move towards the sea and not to the earth after they come out of their eggs? Who taught the bird how to make nests?
My friend, think with your heart and brain. If you're still lost, think about the following:
Do you know how to play safe?
Non-believers' point:
If there's no God and you do all what you want in life, then nothing will happen to you after life. But if there was God and you were mistaken, then you'll blame yourself FOREVER...
Believer's point:
If there's God and I followed His commands in life, then I'll be in Heaven after life FOREVER. But if there was no God and we're mistaken, then nothing bad will happen to us after life...
Now you know how to play-safe, in case you're not convinced?

I think that the fact that most poor people believe in God makes people that have it all and complain because they can't see God look kind of pathetic.

The love for heaven. You may not believe now but I am sorry that when you will be gnashing your teeth in hell it will be too late. The gods of this world has truely blinded many.
Man I command you in the name of Jesus to repent from your sin of unbelieve. I want to let you know that financially I can classify myself as a poor man but I am at rest. I have my peace and I am spiritually rich.
What will a man gain if he have the whole world but lost his soul? Man you need the Lord Jesus Christ in your life. When you will have Him you will be greater than who you are today.
I love you.
