It is true that in nearly every US college and/or university requires a student to take the SAT to be admitted (or the TOFEL or ACT), however what is a good score it get into a school depends on the school you are interested in. The highest score you can get in any of the sections is a 800 (2400 when combinding all three) and an average score is a 500 (1500). The get into the best schools you should aim for at least a 1800, but a 2100 is a sure way to get in. Of course many colleges will be willing to except a lower score in order to accept some students to give more diverse flavor to their student body (like a foreign student from India).

Good Luck!!!

The SAT or ACt is reuired for most colleges in the US.

I would say a good score on the SAT is 600 or above per section (there are 3 sections).
