zee: We may have both, freedom and a President which professes Christian beliefs but North America is NOT a "Christian Continent" ! We are as far away from being "Christian nations" as east is from west !!! Watch both, the national and local news to take a reality check ! There are Christians in our nation - but our nations are not "Christian" !!!

The fact that we have religious freedom is down to the fact that we have (or are supposed to have) a secular government that is NEUTRAL on the subject of religion. That is the only way that can guarantee freedom of religion. A "Christian" nation is just that...heavily favoring Christianity inb policy and politics.

It is not a Christian country either because that is not declared and as a Christian I see a lot of restrictions on what Christians can do in public.
