The disc was made with a camcorder DVD -R 1.48BG mini disc.

I can see visually on the DVD that something is written to the DVD. Is their anyway that the disc might not be finalized ( i.e. open for multisession). I have Nero, is there anyway that i can recover this stuff that was written with the Camcorder?

thank you

Well, some DVD drives do not read all types of DVD formats. Some would read only DVD-R and ohters DVD+R. But new drives are able to read all formats.

Try to see if Nero recognises the disc. If it does, save the disc as an ISO image using nero and burn that image onto another DVD disc.

Other try the software "DVD Decrypter" to see if it can detect the files on your Disc, then extract them to a folder on your PC.

If it was not finalized it will not show on your DVD player, finalize it on your camcorder and then see if you can view it on the camcorder, if you can then try yor dvd player, if it does not show up on you dvd plare after that it is in the wrong fomat, computers generaly need mpeg 2.

try using a differnent program to try to open it. maybe its not the right format. put it on a normal DVD disk then. does it work on DVD player over tv? try it if not the disk might be scratched or it is definetly the wrong format.

One strong chance could be that the DVD is of a different region.
